Introduction: what is a cookie?

By using or visiting Cooks from Spain’s websites (“Website”), you consent to Cooks from Spain’s use of cookies as set forth below.

For the purposes of this Cookie Policy, “Cooks from Spain” or “we” refers to Cooks from Spain when recruitment services are provided to you by Cooks from Spain.

This Cookie Policy explains when and why cookies may be sent to visitors to the Website (‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’ or ‘our’). ‘Cookies’ are text files that a Website stores on the hard drive or other device used to visit the Website to keep track of data. Cookies allow us to remember important information and facilitate your use of the Website. A cookie typically contains the name of the domain from which the cookie originated, the “lifetime” of the cookie, and a randomly generated unique number or other value. Certain cookies are used on the Website whether or not you are logged into your account.

Session cookies are temporary cookies that remain in your browser’s cookie file until you leave the Website.

Persistent cookies remain in your browser’s cookie file for much longer (although the duration depends on the lifetime of the specific cookie). When we use session cookies to track the total number of visitors to our Website, we use anonymous, aggregated data (the cookies themselves do not contain any personal data). We may also use cookies to remember your computer and tailor your online Cooks from Spain experience to you when you later revisit the Website. We may associate personal data with a cookie file in such cases.

How does Cooks from Spain use cookies?

Like most websites, we use cookies for a variety of purposes to improve your online experience, for analytics and marketing, but we use cookies on the Website specifically for the following purposes:

Analytical purposes We use cookies to analyze user activity to improve our Website. For example, we may use cookies to view overall patterns, such as the average number of user searches. We may use this analysis to figure out how to improve the functionality and user experience of the Website.
Your preferences and user experience We use cookies to collect certain information about users, such as browser type, server, language preferences and country setting, to store user preferences on our Website and make your experience more consistent and convenient. For example, we may store your recent searches in a cookie so that we can easily repeat those searches the next time you visit our Website. In addition, we use cookies to keep you logged in if you visit our Website more often. We may also use your IP address to determine your geographic location to provide you with the most relevant search results.
Marketing We use cookies from third-party partners such as Google and Facebook for marketing purposes. These cookies allow us to show you Cooks from Spain ads on other sites you visit on the Internet. Cooks from Spain may also share information about your behavior on the Website with third parties (including third-party website operators and/or other social networking sites) to show you targeted ads and other content customized for you. We also use cookies for the Cooks from Spain Targeted Ads program. For this program, we use cookies to determine which ads users have already seen and how many times they have seen a particular ad.
Referrals tracking We use cookies to link user activity to the external website that referred the user to our Website or for the user activity of users who have been referred to an external website by Cooks from Spain. These external partners receive remuneration for the activities of the users they refer to our Website or reward Cooks from Spain for the activities of the users referred to such external websites. We do not share personal data or data about individual users’ activities with these partner entities. We also use cookies to link user activity to the email campaign that referred users to our Website.
Security considerations We use cookies to mitigate certain types of cyber attacks.
Testing, usability and performance improvements. We use cookies to ensure that users have a consistent user experience, and we conduct A/B testing on certain areas of our Website to improve the products offered. We also use cookies to improve the performance and reliability of our Website.
Fraud/spam prevention We use cookies during fraud assessments and investigations. Some of the cookie/device tracking is done through third-party vendors such as SiftScience. Other times, we use our own indexes to identify activity related to specific cookies.

Managing cookies in your browser

Use the options in your web browser if you do not want to receive cookies or if you want to set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie. You can easily delete and manage cookies installed in your browser’s cookie folder by following the instructions provided by your browser’s creator.

If your browser is not on this list, please consult your specific browser vendor’s documentation. You may also consult your mobile device documentation for information on how to disable cookies on your mobile device. If you disable all cookies, you may not be able to use all of the features of this Website.

In addition, Cooks from Spain can also provide employers with code for a conversion tracker for the Website. This tracker pings the Web beacon for job seekers and tracks data when a job seeker applies for a job through the employer’s Web site. Each time a job seeker initiates a search on Cooks from Spain, this conversion tracker attributes an application to Cooks from Spain, regardless of any other activity in between. Cooks from Spain has no access to the cookies in the employer’s domain. The conversion tracker is simply a counter that sends a notification to Cooks from Spain when a job seeker has applied. If a job seeker has disabled the web beacon, the conversion tracker does not work.

Cooks from Spain uses Google Analytics’ AdWords features and remarketing lists for advertisers in the Display Network. Cooks from Spain and Google use proprietary domain cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and external cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) to create, optimize and display advertisements based on previous visits to our Website. This means that vendors, including Google, may display promotional materials from Cooks from Spain on other websites you visit on the Internet.

You can opt out of Google Analytics for advertisers in the Display Network, including AdWords, and custom Google Display Network ads through Google’s Ad Preferences Management. To provide website visitors with more options regarding the collection of their data by Google Analytics, Google has developed the Opt-out Browser Add-on available through Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Here you can opt out of Google’s programs.
